About Amethyst
Amethyst is the raw mineral mined from crystals in the Mining Guild at 92 Mining. Buying it on the GE lets you skip that gathering requirement and cut it with the appropriate Crafting level. Make sure you are pricing the raw mineral when planning an offer: amethyst arrowtips, dart tips, and finished ammunition each have their own market.
A chisel cuts amethyst into bolt tips, arrowtips, javelin tips, or dart tips. Ammunition made from it sits between rune and dragon equipment in power and level requirements. Cutting consumes the mineral, connecting miners selling their output with processors buying supplies. A processor should compare the mineral cost with the full batch of tips it produces, then account for tax on the output sale.
