Could Jagex Add 'Jimothy' as a Rocky Pet Transmog?

The Old School RuneScape community often turns real-world memes into game suggestions, and Jimothy fits the existing Rocky pet. Rocky is a raccoon skilling pet that players can receive while training Thieving.

As Jimothy’s popularity grew, OSRS players started asking for a new Rocky transmog. A highly upvoted r/2007scape post demanded: “Don’t even poll it Jagex, just add Jimothy as a transmog NOW”. Another player said that if Jagex adds a Jimothy pet, they would “grind the f** out of thieving until I get him”.

The official Old School RuneScape account also acknowledged the joke in this tweet:

What Rocky already supports

Rocky already has two transmogs. Feeding him certain berries turns him into a Red Panda or a Ziggy, a tanuki-style raccoon. A third option could use the same system, but it would still need a new character model and a trigger item.

The animation problem

Adding the transmog may be straightforward in code, but Jimothy would need new art and animation. A custom rig for a raccoon with no neck and a compressed spine is more work than recoloring Rocky. His running animation, described by some players as “an orb with really long legs,” would also need bespoke work. The open question is whether Jagex would spend that time on a meme that might fade within a month.

Could it happen?

If this were any other MMO, the answer would be a flat “no.” But this is Old School RuneScape.

The official account’s reference keeps the idea alive, but it is not evidence of a planned update. A future reference could be as small as a short-spined raccoon in a new Thieving area in Varlamore, or an interaction that turns Rocky into a compact ball of fur for a moment.

For now, Jimothy is still a community idea. Players can keep training Thieving and wait to see whether Jagex does anything with it.
